Ujjain also known as Ujjayini, Avanti, Avantika, Avantikapuri is an ancient city situated on the eastern bank of the Kshipra River in the Malwa region of central India.

Ujjain is also one of the venues of the Kumbh Melas, the greatest fair that takes place in the country. The fair takes place in every twelve years, in the month of Chaitra.
